Since 1 July 2025, Ho Chi Minh City also includes the former Binh Duong and Ba Ria-Vung Tau provinces. An address there is now a Ho Chi Minh City address, so ask whether a same-day promise covers the whole enlarged city or only the old city limits.
Ho Chi Minh City absorbed Binh Duong and Ba Ria-Vung Tau on 1 July 2025, when Vietnam moved from 63 provinces and cities to 34. On the same date the district level of local government ended across the country, so an address now names the ward and the city, with no district in between.
If your address still reads the old way, a courier may still find it, but a seller quoting delivery times by district is working from the old map. Give the ward and the current city name, and ask the seller to confirm the parcel is going to the right place.
