Semax: an ACTH(4-10) analogue
Semax is a synthetic peptide, sequence Met-Glu-His-Phe-Pro-Gly-Pro, built from a fragment of the hormone ACTH.
Most published work comes from Russian groups and uses rodents. A 2005 rat and mouse study looked at its effect on dopamine and serotonin systems in the brain.

Selank: a tuftsin analogue
Selank is a synthetic peptide modelled on tuftsin, a short peptide the body makes.
Published studies are mostly in rats, for example in models of stress and of morphine withdrawal, and in gene expression work on GABA signalling.

SLU-PP-332: an ERR agonist (not a peptide)
SLU-PP-332 is a small synthetic molecule, not a peptide. It switches on all three estrogen-related receptors, ERR alpha, beta and gamma, and acts most strongly on ERR alpha.
Its 2023 description paper worked in muscle cells and in mice, where it raised oxidative muscle fibres and running endurance. A 2024 mouse study looked at metabolic syndrome. There are no published human trials.

SS-31 (elamipretide): a mitochondria targeting peptide
SS-31 is a tetrapeptide that binds cardiolipin, a lipid in the inner membrane of mitochondria. It is also known as elamipretide.
As a prescription medicine, elamipretide received accelerated approval in the USA in September 2025 for Barth syndrome. A research vial sold as SS-31 is not that medicine, and nothing here is about using it.

Kisspeptin-10: a hypothalamic signalling peptide
Kisspeptin is a neuropeptide made in the hypothalamus. Animal work shows it links metabolic signals to the reproductive hormone axis, and kisspeptin-10 is a short form used in studies.
In one small 2013 study, researchers gave it into a vein to men in a clinical research setting and measured the hormones LH and testosterone.

Epithalon (epitalon): the AEDG tetrapeptide
Epithalon, also spelled epitalon, is the tetrapeptide Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly, first made to match an extract of the pineal gland.
A 2003 study added it to human fetal fibroblast cells and reported telomerase activity. A 2025 cell-line study reported longer telomeres. This is cell work, not evidence about people.
